Since the beginnings of humanity, we have known that plants and trees secrete sap or resin when they are damaged. This sap sticks the defect together and initiates the healing of the wound. We assume that these secretions, which so obviously initiate healing in plants, can also bring about healing for human wounds as well. In the end many of these plant secretions or extracts from leaves, bark, fruit or resin do prove to be very helpful when it comes to treating wounds. They are often ground to form a plant-based pulp or paste so they can then be applied to wounds.
